Not long ago, I was discussing with a colleague here in the state prospect of working in the franchise sector. He noted that he might like management, marketing, or sales positions. He would love to be on the payroll or work independently as a consultant of some sort. He told me that he was optimistic, and see some red flags when talking to different people in the industry, especially those with business outside sales, business brokers even covering existing franchise units sold and resold. As a former franchisor, now retired, I would say that in my mind that most of the problems associated with over-regulation, and how the business model box’ed forced into a funnel or in the attitude. Then of course throw some hot shots in the sales mix, and they can really take a toll on the “dream” of a franchise buyers who already own their own business, or franchise entrepreneurial founders who worked their lives to build a damn.

Indeed, I have found over the years that the biggest breach of the franchise system, regulators, franchise buyers lie on qualification forms, and some unscrupulous sellers. There is nothing wrong with the franchise, as there is nothing wrong with free market capitalism. But it does not mean that the traditional sector business model only allowed sellers to make billions, that there were at least a few people wandering around the outskirts looking for low-hanging fruit to stick without ethical integrity needed to succeed in the industry.

Of course, people are looking for fast money to flock to where they found the flow of money and scrape the cream. But the reality is that for most of the franchise industry is a good industry ethics. This should be through the nature of business relationships that create win-win situations in the market. A franchise or a team they can not fool too many people if they want to continue to grow, because if they do, they will leave behind them to prevent them from getting a trail of debris to the next step when they are inundated with lawsuits and lawsuits.
